TREASURER’S REPORT:  Shirley Seals

A copy of the Balance Sheet dated September 30, 2005 and a Profit and Loss Statement as of September 30, 2005 were distributed to the Board members.

Financials statements were accepted and approved by Board members.

A Sunshine Bridge News Financial Recap and Projections through

January 1, 2007 were distributed.

The report points out that the Sunshine Bridge News will cost approximately

$84,000 per year, not including Administrative and Coordinator cost, and

the annual income to the SBN from Regional and Sectional Tournaments, one STAC each year, and Advertising Income  is $73,000.  This produces a conservative estimated loss of $11,000 per year.  At the beginning of 2007, the SBN account will have an Operating Balance of $14,800.

Treasurer’s Report was approved as presented.

DIRECTOR – IN – CHARGE   Patty Johnson

The total number of tables through Friday evening was 1,037,  which compared with two years ago makes the tournament down 27%.  However, compared to one year ago, the table count is  up 15%.  The tournament table count is not  compared to the Regional held  one year ago, since the Orlando NABC started one week after this Regional.

The hurricane disaster in south Florida and the World Championship now being held in Portugal is largely responsible for the table count being low.

DISTRICT GOODWILL REPORT:    Roberta Birdt

The Goodwill Party was held at the PGA Regional Tournament in May.  All of the Rookie of the Year vases have been sent UPS.  Roberta asked the Board members to support the Annual Goodwill Party.  Jayne asked that no Mini-McKenney pins be given out at future Goodwill events.  Virginia Waterfield asked the Committee to consider a more central location for future Goodwill parties.

SUNSHINE BRIDGE NEWS REPORT:   Muriel Altus

The issue of selling advertisements in the SBN and Sponsorship of tournaments was discussed in length.  If this proposal is successful, it would cover the shortfall of the money needed to fund the SBN.  (The proposal is attached to these minutes).  Motion made by Muriel Altus, seconded by Michael Kassay,  to approve the proposal.  Motion carried.

Motion made that the Sunshine Bridge News be placed on the District 9 Website at a cost of $100 per issue.  This would begin with the November/December issue of the SBN.  Motion carried.
