DISTRICT CHARITY GRANTS BEGIN IN 2005
In an effort to respond to the needs of charity in local areas, the ACBL Charity Foundation in 2005 began issuing grants to districts rather than granting one $100,000 contribution to a national Charity of the Year.
The districts will be in a four-year cycle with the exceptions of Districts
1 and 2, where charity funds are collected by the
These districts will be awarded grants in the following years:
Year Districts
2005 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 17
2006 3, 13, 16, 20, 24
2007 8, 9, 10, 14, 21, 23
2008 12, 15, 18, 19, 22, 25
Each district will be allowed to allocated $20,000. This sum can be divided into no more than five separate grants, each of which must be made to a qualified 501 ©4 organization. The relevant district boards or their designee shall allocate the district grants.
Thanks to you, the 2004-2005 NAP season was a roaring success.
By now, all club managers should have their 2005-06 NAP packets. The packet includes the Conditions of Contest. Please read the NAP Conditions of Contest carefully. Club-level games may be hosted during June, July, and August. Unit level events begin September 1, but must be held prior to the District
final. The NAP finals will be held in

Feature a Membership Game and earn 100% sectional rated black points. This is also a great opportunity to recruit new members because only Life Masters and paid ACBL members are eligible to win masterpoints in these games.
A club may hold one Membership Game per year for each regularly sanctioned session.
Help support North Americans in international bridge competition. On Friday evening, July 22, bridge clubs across ACBL will host the last

NOTE: September is International Fund month. Any regularly scheduled sanctioned session during September can be an International Fund game. The cost is an extra $1.00 per person and players can win sectional-rated black points.
The ACBL-wide Instant Matchpoint Game will be held on Wednesday evening, September 14. This event features a gold point for section-top winners and a booklet with complete analyses of the deals by national champion Richard Pavlicek. This contest is played by all ACBL sanctioned bridge clubs at the same time. District winners and the top pair will be listed in the Bridge Bulletin.
We love our newcomers! The ACBL-wide 49wers Pairs club games may be played the entire month of September—with recognition in the Bridge Bulletin magazine for pairs with the highest percentages in each district. These games award sectional-rated black points for players with fewer than 50 masterpoints. Clubs may run as many games as they wish. There are no additional fees and no registration required.
We love our clubs, especially during OCTOBER. All sanctioned clubs may hold a Club Appreciation Pair Game and a Club Appreciation Swiss Teams during the month of October per-sanctioned session. Masterpoints awarded: 100% sectional-rated black for the Club Appreciation Pair Game. For team events, the club awards 5% gold masterpoints to a maximum of 0.25 per player. The remaining masterpoints are sectional-rated black.
