We recently introduced the Club Manager

you are profiled as a Club Manager, this page appears like magic in your
portal, providing you with up-to-date information on your schedules and monthly
reports. If you have not already done
so, register for the portal now by going to www.acbl.org
and clicking on MyACBL.
Jim Lopushinsky, ACBLScore program creator,
will join us at the Denver NABC at 11:00
a.m. Saturday, November 19, to answer your ACBL score questions. He follows Coffee
with Carol at 10:00 a.m. The
coffee features what’s new from the Board of Directors and the ACBL. Our “Thank You” reception will begin at 5:30
p.m. Friday, November 18. You are all
invited.”
ABA/ACBL UNITY GAME
The ACBL and the American Bridge
Association (ABA) will host a special Inter-Club Championship Game on June 24,
2006. The usual Inter-Club Championship
scoring and reporting procedures will apply.
More information on this game, the dates and registration will be
available in the next Club Manager’s Newsletter and on the ACBL web site later
this year.
To learn more about the ABA, visit its web
site at www.americanbridge.com.
The ACBL Board of Directors made the
following change in the Conditions of Contest, effective immediately:
Any player participating in either the GNT
or NAP events must be a dues-paying or service fee paid up ACBL member prior to
playing in any level of this event except club qualifying.
NAP TRAVEL POLICY
The ACBL Board of Directors made the following changes in the NAP travel policy in order to streamline the process fairly, effective July 2005:
Each Club has received the 2006 Special
Events sanction form. If your clubs has
not received this form, please contact Carol.
This form lists the dates of upcoming 2006 special games as well as the
deadline for submission. It is
imperative to complete and return the form in a timely manner. The mailing of your game supplies depends
on it. You may also sanction the games
online by visiting your MyACBL portal club manager page or under Special Events
on the page for Club Directors and Managers.
As you know, these special event games
entice more players into the club and offer enhanced masterpoints. All special event games offer expert hand
analysis.
If you forget whether you have sanctioned a
game or would like to see other sanctioned games in your area, go the ACBL web
site. Click on Play>Special Events>Participating
Clubs.
Jo Anne Collins (extension 1286) and Mabel
Wilkes (extension 1333) are always happy to assist you with any questions or
problems you may have.
TIDBITS OF INFORMATION:
New fees:
We are offering this inexpensive course to make is as easy as possible
for everyone to learn about ACBLScore.
It is increasingly important that your club use a current version of ACBLScore
and electronic reporting, both for the benefit of your plays and the budget of
the ACBL. We have estimated that manual
processing by staff members here takes 300 hours each month! Because of this, the ACBL Board of
Directors has established an additional fee of $2 per game for clubs that do
not utilize a version of ACBLScore that provides for electronic submission of
accurate monthly reports. This policy
will be in effect as of January 1, 2006.
Be sure to update your version! Clubs that do not use ACBLScore will be will
be charged an additional $2 per game beginning in 2007.
