The year 2005 will be a very exciting one for our District. We will host a total of NINE Regional Tournaments in Florida. …. The Tampa Regional in January held at the Tampa Hyatt and The Sandestin Regional in February were both very well attended.
The following Five Regional tournaments will be in new locations:
The Southeastern will be held at the World Marriott Center in Orlando from March 28 – April 3. (As many of you know, this was the site of our National tournament a few months ago.) The Marriott is a premier facility with five restaurants, multiple pools, surrounded by an 18-hole golf course, and staffed by some of the finest and most accommodating people it has ever been our privilege to work with.
Then from May 30 – June 5 we move further south to the PGA National Resort & Spa located in Palm Beach Gardens. The tournament hospitality will feature free orange juice and coffee, Senior Breakfast, Traditional dinner and an Open Hospitality Room following the evening sessions.
The “Ft. Lauderdale Regional” will be held June 28 – July 4 at the Hilton Hotel in Deerfield Beach. The Hilton is located on I-95 and Hillsboro Blvd and is easily accessible from anywhere. Hospitality will include pizza, ice cream, desserts and more. There will be bagels in the morning along with free orange and coffee.
August 15 – 21 takes us to the Clearwater Beach Hilton Hotel. Along with the traditional Unit 128 hospitality, Clearwater features many fine restaurants and beautiful beaches.
The Boca Raton Regional scheduled in 2004 was cancelled due to a hurricane. Thanks go to ACBL for allowing us to hold this tournament in 2005. We will be at the Embassy Suite Hotel from September 5 – 11. The hotel rates are very competitive with a full breakfast and cocktail
hour included in the price of the room. Unit 128 will extend their usual gracious and generous hospitality.
In October we return to the Marco Island Radisson Resort which is always
a favorite with our players. Dates for this Regional are
September 26 – October 2.
To finish out the year, we will again be at the Plaza Resort and Spa in
Daytona Beach from November 1 – 6. The hotel is beachfront with a fabulous Spa and reasonable room rates.
So put on your “tournament traveling shoes”…..2005 is going to be FUN.
