Are you coming to Dallas for the Nationals? It is not too late to make plans now to attend the Spring North American
Bridge Championships held at the Hyatt Regency at Reunion in downtown Dallas
from March 30 thru April 9. There are events for every level of player…from professionals to beginners. If you have never been to a “National”…it’s time to go. Ask anyone about their first National tournament…or winning their first
masterpoints …or even platinum points won….
it is truly an exciting experience…not to mention the hundreds of shops,
restaurants and historical sights. I hope to see you there.
As your District Director, I begin board meetings on Monday prior to the
start of the tournament. One of my main goals is to develop a long-range, comprehensive plan to
attract more players in the 50-plus age categories.
Please remember that beginning January 1, 2006 through June 30, 2006, an amnesty program is in effect. Upon payment of the membership dues/service fees, people whose membership
has lapsed shall be credited with all masterpoints, which were earned during
the lapsed membership period. This is a great opportunity to rejoin ACBL and have all masterpoints earned
during the lapsed period, be awarded with no additional cost.
Everyone has a favorite thing to do….Mine is to Volunteer…and it starts
at your local club. Your local club needs you….they need your help. Don’t wait to be asked….Volunteer. There is nothing quite as satisfying as “making a difference at your club”...whether
it be helping with a Sectional tournament, serving on your local board,
or bringing food/snacks for special events. It means you care…and you love your club and this game as much as I do.
When you have a question about bridge and don’t know where to go for an
answer…just send me an e-mail. I check my e-mails daily…even when on the road…and I will be glad to point you in the right direction for the answers
you need.
