NOVEMBER – DECEMBER 2006

 

 

Welcome back home to our District 9 members who took a break from the summer Florida weather.  The new figures in from ACBL indicate that bridge is alive and flourishing in Florida. 

 

As of October 1, our total members are 16,837.  This means that 11+% of all ACBL members reside here in Florida.  (Our membership total will increase to approximately 18,000 by December 1.)

The New Year begins a busy season of Regional Tournaments in our District.

The Orlando Regional (January 1 – 7) will be held at a new location…

The Hilton Hotel in the Walt Disney World Resort.  Also, January 22 – 28, we go back to the beautiful Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.  It is not too early to start making plans to attend these tournaments.

 

The ACBL and AARP tournaments have been well attended and this is great exposure of our game to the thousands of AARP members.  The AARP LifeBegins@50 National Convention will include the first AARP Bridge Open Tournament.
