September is full of special events — International Fund Month, ACBL-wide 49er Pairs and the popular ACBL-wide Instant Matchpoint Game, the only club game that provides a gold point for winners. Be sure to sanction your games now to provide these special opportunities for your players.

New Date and Time?

If you are a club manager or owner and have not registered at My ACBL, stop reading this and join right now! My ACBL displays your schedule, monthly reports and more. In our recent member survey, a common complaint was outdated game schedules at Find a Club. Many of you have contacted us with updates after seeing the schedule on the portal page.

The 2005 membership survey also found our members hungry for online learning tools and lessons. Karen Walker’s page is a good example. If you provide online lessons, please use the online teacher application to submit your web site to the Education Department for the Find a Teacher database. If you offer lessons at an online site, please send us the details. We plan to add a search capability to find online teachers.

Teachers' Pets

The American Bridge Teachers Association announced its annual book and software awards during the annual ABTA convention prior in Atlanta. Marty Bergen's "Declarer Play the Bergen Way" won the book of the year award, and Larry Cohen new CD, "My Favorite 52," won the software award.
