Congratulations to all ACBL volunteers for one of the most successful years in our history! As of Dec. 31, 2004, membership had risen to 168,380, the highest number since 1996. Tournament attendance was at an all-time high, with more than 460,000 tables in play. Imagine what we can accomplish in 2005! Keep reading Marketing Matters for ideas.

Table Movements

You can hold a sanctioned club or unit game just about anywhere. Try setting up a game at a shopping mall, college student center or bookstore. Or promote the game at an exhibit or convention in your area. Check the Internet for information on Senior Expos, Senior Gamed and other community events. The ACBL will support you by sending exhibits and brochures.

Masterpoint race winners for 2004 will be announced in late February. But don’t forget to remind your high-level players to begin competing now for the two new 2005 categories —Emerald (7500-9999 masterpoints) and Platinum (players with 10,000+ points who are not Grand Life Masters).
